For custom creations we can provide you with professional advice on our hand silvered panels of antiqued mirrors according to your specification. You’ll also have the option of toughened mirror glass which is quite unusual when you are after antiqued mirror.

Site Survey and Fitting

If you would like supply only service from Mirror by Design please make sure to work with a professional glazier/tradesperson to get your dimensions spot on.

We also offer professional on-site surveying and installation services at an additional cost.

Our experienced team is available for on-site measuring and fitting, and we maintain a high standard of service.

We can also work with templates and CAD drawings in DXF and DWG formats.

Lead Time

Due to the process required for creating hand silvered, bespoke finishes the typical lead time is 4-6 weeks whereas sheets can be supplied within 2-3 weeks depending on the volume and the intricate details you are after.

You are also welcome to collect from our premises if preferred.

Samples

As with all patterned and hand finished glass, the pattern is random and sometimes hard to discern from a small sample.

We offer a 150mm square sample where possible. This is larger than most companies offer as we feel it gives you a better idea to see if the mirror is right for you.

Simply return our samples and we will refund your deposit of £10.00 or credit it when you place an order.

Bigger samples are available upon request however a lead time will have to be taken into consideration.

Toughening

Toughened or tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the inner surfaces into tension.

As a result of its safety and strength, toughened glass is used in a variety of demanding applications including retail premises where health and safety requirements are in place and splashbacks in kitchens and bathrooms.

Besides our range of antique mirror glass, we can also provide you with plain toughened mirror glass using traditional hand-silvering techniques for a high quality finish. We can also apply the same system to some of our styles before applying our hand finished antiquing procedure to make it suitable for more vulnerable surroundings.
